Modern Dance Technique (Teen/Adult) - August/September 2022
In this introductory level class, we’ll work to develop a movement practice that centers both self-care and togetherness.
We'll work to access availability, spaciousness, presence, and pleasure both individually and collectively. Students will investigate basic patterns of choreography, experimenting with principles of velocity and momentum and exploring personal and shared movement impulses.
Mondays from 6:15pm to 7:15pm
August 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, and Sept 5th
$82 for 6 sessions ($72 for members)

Teens and Adults of all skill levels
Participants of diverse abilities, needs, and backgrounds are encouraged to participate. Dance experience is welcomed, but not necessary.
No outdoor shoes or tap shoes in the studio. Please change out of shoes in the office area.
Drinks in the office area only.
Masks, vax'd (over 5), and distancing for staff and participant safety.

About the instructor: Dani Robbins (they/them) is a choreographer/performer living and working on unceded Wabanaki territory in what is currently known as Maine, United States. Dani uses a multimedia creative practice to develop dance work. They have performed collaborative and solo works in Germany, Maine, Vermont, Boston, and NYC. Dani currently teaches as adjunct faculty at College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine where they offer classes in contemporary dance technique, video dance, and somatics. In addition to their personal creative practice, Dani works as Associate Director of the Acadia Dance Festival. https://www.dani-robbins.com/
