Students will create a dynamic soft pastel landscape using gestural marks. With the use of the Mi-Teintes Velvet paper, a new paper with an innovative and unusual surface that lends itself to expressive  mark making. Students will discover the paper's ability to hold many layers of pigment without dusting or spraying. Tuition includes materials and supplies.

Meet the Artist:

Rainey is an artist from San Antonio, Texas. She has been exhibiting her work for 27 years and has been an art educator since 1999. Rainey is a recipient of the Primer Paso Fellowship. In 2008 Rainey was awarded Instructor of the Year and Most Creative Artist, both by the Southwest School of Art. In 2014 she established House Paint Art School where students of all levels learn to paint in oils and pastels.
