July 24 - This workshop is one in a series of many on design graphic novels. You do not need to attend the others to attend this one. This workshop is all about designing a world of your choice: who lives there? What kind of creatures? What do plants look like? This workshop is a great way to get your creative juices flowing and to play around. Bring any questions especially if they're related to the process of making a graphic novel. Any array of materials will be provided but feel free to bring any favorites of your own.
July 31 - transcribing graphic novels (My favorite is Tilly Walden. Do you have a favorite?)
Aug 21 - fantastic animals
Aug 28 - drawing from a different perspective

About the instructor: Gabrielle is a young illustrator and multimedia artist. She grew up on a small island in Maine, and consistently finds her art influenced by her upbringing. She worked for the Illustration institute based out of Portland Maine in 2020 producing a short documentary series about how drawing influences thinking. Gabrielle is currently enrolled at College of the Atlantic and is on course to graduate with a study in visual narratives. When she’s not drawing or crafting you can find her planning her next cross-country bike tour.
