Drawing - Summer Series - July 17 - Storyboarding

Sundays from 10:00am to 12:00pm, please arrive early to settle in before class begins.
$42 per session, sign up for 1, a few, or all! materials included ($32 for members)
Ages 14 years and up of all skill levels
Masks, vax'd (over 5), and distancing for staff and participant safety.
July 3 - composition
July 10 - character interaction
July 17 - Practice visually laying out a story, be it for a graphic novel or just a story you've told a million times. Take some time to practice your drawing by conveying a narrative one image at a time.
July 24 - worldbuilding
July 31 - transcribing graphic novels (My favorite is Tilly Walden. Do you have a favorite?)
August 7 - short comic
Aug 14 - character design
Aug 21 - fantastic animals
Aug 28 - drawing from a different perspective
About the instructor: Gabrielle is a young illustrator and multimedia artist. She grew up on a small island in Maine, and consistently finds her art influenced by her upbringing. She worked for the Illustration institute based out of Portland Maine in 2020 producing a short documentary series about how drawing influences thinking. Gabrielle is currently enrolled at College of the Atlantic and is on course to graduate with a study in visual narratives. When she’s not drawing or crafting you can find her planning her next cross-country bike tour.
