Are you looking to improve your creative development with constructive feedback?

Join ArtSpeak with Kaitlyn Metcalf: our Visual Arts Critique Group. All mediums and experience levels are welcome. You just have to be open to new ideas and productive feedback.

Bring whatever you are working on and, as a group, we will offer insight on how we, as viewers, are experiencing the piece and offer thoughts on how to further your creative expression. Technique and idea exchange are essential aspects of critique, so come ready to share!

The group will meet via Zoom until we are able to meet in person at ArtWaves.

You will receive a Zoom link once you’ve booked this service.

Kaitlyn Metcalf is a painter and adventurer living on the coast of Maine.

Here is a very simple process that gives striking results. With our step by step instructions, rainbow of inks and papers you will bring home a matted framable piece as well as cards. Linoleum block printing, also known as “lino printing,” is a printmaking process whereby the image you design is printed from the raised surface with the cutting away of the non-image areas. We will use a slightly softer rubber product, try 2 types of inks, learn to safely use cutting gouges, a rubber brayer (ink roller), and learn how to center your prints.

All other tools and aprons are provided, assorted papers and designs to be inspired by. Once your print is cut, it can be applied over and over again. This is a great workshop if you would like to create a card design to give again and again--or use it on fabric! Ages 8 up.
